Reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna of Spain had the great pleasure of meeting Mr Carles Puigdemont, the president of Catalonia, during her official homecoming celebrations in her home city of Barcelona!
Arriving at the Palau de la Generalitat (Palace of the Government) a little after 1pm, Mireia shook hands with the president before spending the next hour in his presence, where the two discussed many things, including Mireia's ideas for the future.

Mr Puigdemont was very gracious in his meeting with Mireia, and complimented her for the "fantastic example for the young" that she sets, not only in her success but also for her ideas for the future.
He said that the president’s door will always be open to listen to any projects Miss World has planned, and they will endeavour to support her as much as they can throughout her reign!
He also asked Mireia to return to his office after she has completed her reign to make a record of her accomplishments over the year to keep a record for the future generations to come.
Earlier in the day, Miss World was invited to the HQ of Major sports paper Diario Sport, located at the Nou Camp, the home of Spanish & European football giants FC Barcelona.
Mireia was given the great privilege of posing with the UEFA Champions League trophy for some photos, which will form part of a feature on her in the edition of the Spanish paper, alongside an interview!
