Will India’s Suman Rao win BWAP at Miss World 2019?

She recently introduced herself along with her advocacies for Miss World 2019. Suma believes that, “no one should ever settle for anything less than what they deserve”, because, she also says that, “when you change the way you look at things then the things you look at also changes”. The diva was born into a very conservative community in which the women and even her own mother had to cover their faces with veil. Suman grew up with a desire to uncover her dreams. She talked about her mother, while she was growing old, she had very less opportunities and hence she instilled in suman a deep appreciation of the need to be independent and have a strong position in the society, which is believed as a true luxury to women in her community and many other parts of India. She said, “Today I am where I am because of my family’s support and specially because my father believed in me and my dreams. As Miss India, I’m compelled to extend this dream to those women who lack this privilege while balancing my traditions and my relationships. My journey from being a simple college student to the world stage has taught me that with belief, passion, and hard work, anything is possible. Extending this freedom of independence to my fellow community of women is now my goal, my world. I am proud to represent India at Miss World and I look forward to meeting my fellow delegates in London.”

Suman Rao is 20 years of age and hails from Aaidana village, near Udaipur, Rajasthan. Her father, Ratan Singh Rao, is a jeweller, while mother Sushila Kunwar Rao is a homemaker. Her family shifted to Mumbai when she was a year old. She did her schooling at Mahatma School of Academics and Sports in Navi Mumbai and is pursuing accountancy course from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She is also a trained Kathak dancer.

The gorgeous diva is not new to the pageantry as in 2018, she took part in Miss Navi Mumbai contest, where she was crowned as 1st runner-up. She then auditioned for the title of Femina Miss Rajasthan 2019 which she eventually won. She represented the state of Rajasthan at the Femina Miss India 2019 pageant and now she is all set to represent India at Miss World 2019.
