Miss World Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada made her country very proud with her recent accomplishments and won herself a spot in the coveted Top 30 of Miss World 2018. As the finale nears, she gets candid in an interview with Miss World Social Media Correspondent Jay Kamiraz where she talks about her experience and future plans with her project. Also, present there is one of the judges of Beauty with a Purpose competition Miss World New Zealand 2015 Deborah Lambie.
In the beginning, on being asked how does it feel to be a recipient of the prestigious Beauty with a purpose award, Shrinkhala was all smiles as she answered that for her the reason why she joined Miss Nepal was that she wanted to participate in Miss World. The whole experience was exciting for her because Miss World is so much more than just a beauty pageant because of Beauty with a Purpose. For her, to win this award meant so much more than winning the crown. Overwhelmed, grateful and thankful, Shrinkhala has been happy with all that she has been able to do and is excited to see what the future holds for her.
Jay then asked her how Beauty With a Purpose projects had impacted her and the lives of people. The Nepalese beauty replied how it has given her a sense of purpose and that if one tries, a change can be brought in the world through simple efforts. Looking at all the twenty-five projects made her believe that collectively more can be done to help the people in the world.
Jay then went on to ask Miss World New Zealand 2015 about the process of deciding the winner to which the former beauty queen replied that its hard because there are so many good projects to consider. While looking for the winner, the judges looked for someone who not only just had a great idea but someone who had also taken action to bring a change. Then she congratulated Shrinkhala for everything that she had achieved; from designing the centre to actually getting the health centre set up for the villagers.
Jay also asked a viewer question to Shrinkhala if she would be working forward with the village from her project to which she replied that she started through her own foundation and will be continuing her great work in the future as well. She wishes to change lives, build schools, shelters all over Nepal.
The last question was about what she has learnt from this experience and the gorgeous beauty answered it with maturity and eloquence saying that everyone has challenges, one just needs to get over the thinking that the position they are in does not define the amount of help. “Even if you don’t have a lot to give, you always have a voice and if you do whatever small contribution from your side, its enough”, she concluded.
