At the conclusion of the magnificent gala of Miss Ukraine 2016 held on 2nd September 2016 Oleksandra Kucherenko was crowned as the winner. Oleksandra succeeds Miss Ukraine 2015 Kristina Stoloka, and will now represent Ukraine at the Miss World 2016 pageant.

18 years old Oleksandra is a dancer from Dnipro and is currently studying at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The beauty queen was the crowd’s favourite from the beginning, and many were vouching on her to win the coveted title. Oleksandra defeated 24 other strong contenders to clinch the coveted title of Miss Ukraine 2016.
Miss Ukraine pageant has been held since 1991 in Ukraine, and over its 25 years of history the Miss Ukraine contest has become a launching pad for many Ukrainian women who have reached success. No Ukrainian woman has ever won a Miss World crown. There were 3 Ukrainian women who made it to the semis of Miss Worl, one Top 15 finish in 2011 and one Top 20 finish in 2013.
