Last year, Indonesia withdrew its participation from Miss Universe 2021. Thus, the country will participate at Miss Universe 2022 after a gap of 1 year. At Miss Universe 2020, Ayu Maulida represented Indonesia and placed in Top 21. Indonesia is yet to pioneer its win at Miss Universe.
