Reinas del Paraguay organization held the finals of the 2022 edition on 26th August 2022 where Leah Ashmore was crowned Miss Universe Paraguay 2022 as she became the official representative of Paraguay at Miss Universe 2022.

Leah Amara Duarte Ashmore, affectionately known as Lele, is a Paraguayan model and beauty queen. She is also known as Leah Ashmore.

Ashmore stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and she is in the marketing and communication profession.

The newly crowned winner hails from Villarica, Paraguay. Her mother is from South Africa. Leah fluently speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese and Guarani. She studied marketing at Universidad Americana in Asuncion, Paraguay.

Aside from being a beauty queen, Leah is also a model. Not new to the pageant world, Leah was crowned Miss Grand Paraguay 2017 at Centro Paraguayo Japonés in Asuncion. Winning the national crown, she represented Paraguay at Miss Grand International 2017 and competed against 76 other candidates at Vinpearl Convention Center in Phú Quoc, Vietnam. She finished in the Top 20.

Leah Ashmore, days before the finale, took to her official social media to talk about what she wants to do and who she wants to be. She wrote that she just wants to be a real woman, with all my flaws and virtues. “Each scar is an experience from which I learned a lot, each smile is something for which I am grateful, and each stretch mark on me counts a history of evolution… of processes that very few dare to mention, how painful it can be to get to know you, to heal and be reborn. I want to be every bit of my heartbecause if my story was of any use, I hope it will be inspirational”, she wrote.

Leah succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Paraguay 2021 Nadia Ferrera who is a Villarriqueña. Coincidentally, Leah is also a native of the department of Guairá. Nadia represented Paraguay at Miss Universe 2021 and placed as the first runner-up with her incredible performance.
