The finale of Miss Gibraltar 2017 is scheduled to be held on 8th July 2017. While there is still time for the finale, the contestants have already been announced, and a total of 9 finalists are vying for the title. Keeping the contestant introduction in loop, here is our next contender, Sian Dean. 20 year old Sian Dean is competing to be the next Miss Gibraltar.

Sian currently takes mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. Skiing has been a passion of her since a young age. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. Her aim is to pursue BA Honours degree in Spanish and she hopes to later go for PGCE. Her idea of a perfect day is to spend a sunny day at Catalan Bay with loved ones. She feels blessed to be born in Gibraltar. Sian says, “I feel we are very lucky to live in such a kind and warm community where everyone supports one another.”

Sian believes that entering the Miss Gibraltar pageant will be a great experience, which will also enhance her self confidence. Explaining why she wants to be Miss Gibraltar, Sian says, “I would be honoured to represent my homeland and be a great ambassador for Gibraltar, furthermore I would like to contribute and help out our charitable community.”

Miss Gibraltar pageant is produced by Santos Productions for the Ministry of Culture at the Alameda Open Air Theatre. The first ever Miss Gibraltar contest was organised by the Vox Newspaper. Won by Viola Abudarham, the first election of Miss Gibraltar took place at a dance organised at the CFCA hall situated at the southern end of Main Street. One of the shocking facts is that the first Miss Gibraltar was married at the time she won the crown. It was only after the pageant was resumed in 1964, the rules were modified.
