Miss World 2019 delegates get the opportunity to speak at debate in Oxford University

Miss World 2019 has begun with pre-pageant activities and competitions being held throughout London, United Kingdom to crown a new Miss World in a few weeks. Six Miss World 2019 delegates were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to speak in the Oxford Students Debate at the esteemed Oxford University.

Miss World England 2019 Bhasha Mukherjee, Miss World Korea 2019 Ji-Yeon Lim, Miss World Indonesia 2019 Princess Megonondo, Miss World Tunisia 2019 Sabrine Mansour, Miss World South Africa 2019 Sasha-Lee Olivier and Miss Nepal World 2019 Anushka Shrestha were the stunning ladies who gave the book buffs a run for their money with their intelligence and eloquence. Titled ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, the delegates got to talk about their purposes at the debate.

With a serious discussion in a panel, the delegates talked about their fields of interest as they showed confidence and sincerity in their preparations. Miss World England 2019 Bhasha Mukherjee took to her official social media to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “My not so glam glasses look yesterday on the panel for Oxford Union. I was nervous as heck but then found my comfort corner: science. I think us ladies gave the book buffs there a tough competition in brain and eloquence. There was so many big words coming from Anushka Shrestha and such fresh perspectives from Ji-Yeon Lim, Princess Megonondo, Sabrine Mansour, and Sasha-Lee Olivier and our own Vanessa Ponce de Leon.”

Indonesia’s Princess Megonondo got her dream come true as she dreamt of visiting Oxford since she was 13 years old. She felt blessed and honored to participate in the debate as she shared her perspective on it and to also represent her country and talk about her passion in one of the places she had always dreamt of.  

Miss World South Africa 2019 Sasha-Lee Olivier also revealed her expressions as she wrote, “One of the most profound moments of my life- getting to speak on the hallowed grounds of Oxford University. A place where world leaders have voiced their opinions and engaged in debate. Thank you to Oxford and The Miss World Organization for this immense honor. I am humbled and grateful.
