Miss Peru Universo 2016 (Miss Peru Universe 2016, Miss Perú) was held on April 23' 2016 in Peru. TAt the culmination of the finale of Miss Peru Universo 2016 aka Miss Peru Universe 2016, held on April 24’ 2016 in Peru, 26 years old Valeria Piazza was crowned as the winner of Miss Peru Universe 2016 by the outgoing queen Laura Spoya. Valeria will now represent Peru at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. At the same event,Priscila Stephany Howard and Danea Panta made it to the Top 3 finalists.The pageant was televised live on Panamericana Television.
The outgoing queen Laura Spoya crowned her successor at the end of the event. Laura Spoya won the Miss Perú 2015 title at the end of the mesmerizing event held on June 2, 2015. She defeated 43 candidates from different districts, cities and regions of Peru to clinch the crown.
This year a total of thirty one (31) stunning contestants were selected who competed at various preliminary competitions, and at last top 10 finalists were shortlisted to compete for the coveted crown of Miss Universo Peru 2016.

Peru has been competing at the Miss Universe pageant since 1952, and in the Miss World pageant since 1959. Peru’s first representative in the Miss Universe pageant was Ada Gabriela Bueno, who was crowned as the first Miss Peru in a ceremony at the Lawn Tennis Club of Lima and competed in Miss Universe 1952.
