24-years-old Jessica Duarte,  who is a native of Rondonópolis was crowned Miss Mato Grosso World 2016 at the end of the Miss Mato Grosso 2016 pageant held on Saturday (January 30’) in the city of Dom Aquino, Mato Grosso, Brazil.

A total of twenty-four candidates competed for the title of Miss Mato Grosso World 2016, but Jessica was the hot favourite.  Jessica, who resides and works as an International model in Australia is not new to the pageant world, as she was Miss Mato Grosso Universe back in 2011, and was considered the favorite for the national title by many people. However, she did not advance to the top 10 at the Miss Universe Brazil 2011. The beauty is now back and wants to try her luck in the Miss Brazil World 2016 pageant.

At the same pageant, the first runner-up title went to Amanda Barbacena, who was bestowed with Miss Pantanal Mato Grosso World 2015 title. She will also compete in the Miss Brazil World pageant. The second runner-up was 17 year-old Jhaddy Hayra, who got the title of Miss Araguaia Islands World 2016.

According to sources, Miss Brazil World (also known as Miss Mundo Brasil 2016) will be held on June 25 at the luxurious beach resort, Campanario, in Jurere Internacional, Santa Catarina.
