The Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2015 pageant concluded with the crowning of 24 year old Visna Fernando as the winner of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2015 held on June 3. Visna will now represent Sri Lanka at the grand slam pageant of Miss Earth 2015. The grand coronation night was televised live on Deerana TV.
Visna is presently reading for a BA External Degree at the Kelaniya University, simultaneous to following CBF at Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. She also represented the country as a national Netball player and was also a member of the Sri Lanka Navy Netball team. In her pastime she enjoys engaging in sports, modelling and art. Sharing her idea behind participating at the Miss Sri Lanka Earth 2015 pageant and thought about the pageant she said, “Earth is the one place we will call home from birth till death and it is our responsibility to ensure its safety”.
The finale of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2015 was also graced by the reigning Miss Earth, Jamie Herrell from Philippines. Jamie toured and travelled Sri Lanka, at the same time fulfilling her duties as the Miss Earth 2014. She was present at the final gala night and doubled the charm of the night, with her presence.
