At the splendid finale of Miss Mundo Colombia 2015 (also known as Miss World Colombia 2015) held on September 5’ 2015, Maria Alejandra López was crowned as the winner. Maria will now represent Colombia at the Miss World 2015 pageant to be held in Sanya, China. She succeeds the outgoing queen, Jessica Leandra García Caicedo who represented Colombia at the Miss World 2014.
21 years old Maria Alejandra López stands tall at a height of 178 cm and is a fifth semester student of industrial engineering. Alejandra speaks fluent English and French and enjoys dancing and reading. Being a health freak, Maria never misses out on her exercise regime. She loves exploring more on make-up and is always on the spree to learn more make-up tips.
Maria’s court includes, Vivian Tatiana Martinez (first runner-up)and María Alejandra Chacón (second runner-up). Colombia has never won any Miss World title so far, but the highest placements that the country hold have been in the year 1996 and 2002. Carolina Arango Corrales in 1996 was adjudged as the first runner-up and Natalia Peralta Castro in the year 2002 was titled first runner-up. Daniela Ramos Lalinde in 2009 was placed as the sixth runner-up and aso won the Special Award for Miss World Golf. The reigning Miss Mundo Colombia is Jessica Leandra García Caicedo who represented Colombia at the Miss World 2014 pageant. However, Jessica remained unplaced.
