Emma Jenkins Miss World Wales 2015

Emma Victoria Jenkins, who is 22 years of age and hails from Llanelli, has been crowned Miss Wales 2015 at the finals of the pageant held on Saturday March 7' 2015 at The Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot. She succeeds Alice Ford, the Miss Wales 2014, and will now represent Wales at Miss World 2015. Emma, researcher and beauty reporter for Tinopolis, defeated 33 other gorgeous girls to the title.

It is now 40 years since Wales last won Miss World with Helen Morgan back in 1974. Sophie Moulds from Ferndale came close,  finishing second in 2012. Emma on first look does have the spark to be a strong contender for Miss World 2015.

In her official blog on the Miss Wales website Emma writes: "I speak Welsh, and I strongly believe in promoting our language, it's a cause that is very close to my heart. This is my first time competing for Miss Wales, and I feel so very fortunate and blessed to have been selected as a finalist.

"The reason that's kept me from competing in the past is that I know there is far more to the title than a crown and sash.

"This is the first year that I have felt mature, strong and confident enough to be able to fill the role. I’m a passionate and motivated person, and I always seek to better myself.

"For as long as I can remember, my father has told me, 'Be the best that you can be' and I have always tried to live every day of my life with that mentality.

"I have never been afraid of hard work, and it has been a pleasure to focus all my spare time and energy on raising vital funds for ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ since being accepted as a finalist.

"It would be a tremendous privilege to continue this Miss Wales journey, I don’t want it to end yet."
