Meet Virginia Hernandez Miss Earth 2016 Finalist

The 26 years old Virginia Hernandez is an Industrial Engineer, Ballet Teacher and Model by profession. Virginia explains her environmental advocacy and says, “My environmental advocacy is Proper Waste Disposal. I chose it because we as Individuals contribute to this cause, and there is a lack of information in my country about the right ways to discard garbage, specially the types of waste in our homes that have the potential to cause disease or water pollution. I believe that knowledge can create change, and with the Miss Earth platform I can inspire that change in my country, teaching how with our actions we can improve air and water quality and help in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and how this new habits are going to help us to have a better life quality and a better future.”

The gorgeous beauty is a pageant veteran. She won the title of Miss World Panama in the year 2013. She represented Panama at the World Miss University 2010 where she won the Special Award for Miss Congeniality. She also represented at the Queen of the carnival vodenitsata and at Miss World 2013 pageant. The beauty queen is a famous model in panama and also a TV star. Standing tall at an astounding height of 5’8”, Virginia with her pageantry experience is all set to conquer the Miss Earth 2016 pageant.

Virginia’s childhood taught her that great efforts have great rewards. She said she will never forget how she spent long hours in the night, how tired she felt, but in the end it also made her a stronger person, taught her that you can always give more, and the importance of being responsible and how because of that you can achieve your goals.

Virginia respects and loves every single culture and wants to be and see everyone happy. The young lady feels that we should always treat everyone equally.

Virginia would like to promote environmental awareness in her country. She was quoted saying, “Panama is starting great programs to promote the conservation of our resources, specially taking care of the great environmental impact that Panama Canal and construction creates; also young kids are starting to be part of the initiatives like the Reforestation Day, that’s a great way to involve them in the promotion of environmental awareness, and to create from the early years the right habits to have a better planet.”

The competition at Miss Earth is not going to be an easy one. The battle is hard and the candidates are strong. If Virginia utilises her experience to her best, she can go really far at the contest.
