The Miss Colombia or Concurso Nacional de Belleza de Colombia is a national beauty pageant which started in the year 1934.Yolanda Emiliani Román was crowned the first Miss Colombia at the age of 19, and she held on to the crown till the year 1947 as the second world war prevented the organization of the pageant to elect the new Miss Colombia. The first color transmission of the pageant was done in the year 1980 through the RCN television.
Currently the Miss Colombia enjoys the position and reputation as one of the most prestigious fashion events in the country, besides being an entity that promotes social commitment and tourism through the beauty of Colombian women. The goal of Miss Colombia has always been to ensure the promotion of the country abroad through the beauty of Colombian women and support social work campaigns that benefit the most vulnerable citizens. The Miss Colombia pageant is held with the aim to benefit and support social causes; it extends its support to the activities of some productive sectors that promote the generation of direct and indirect jobs. Miss Colombia pageant ensures that their contestants wear national dresses manufactured in their land, under the label ‘Made in Colombia’ to promote the fashion industry. The winners of the pageant commit to the promotion of tourism, culture and heritage of Colombia.

The Miss Colombia winner receives the title of Miss Colombia and represents Colombia in Miss Universe, the National Virreina, receives the title of Miss Colombia International and represents the country in Miss International, while the Princesses are responsible for participating in other competitions worldwide. Colombia has so far never managed to win the coveted 'Miss Universe' title. Colombia has won Miss International thrice till now. The three Miss International winners are as follows Maria Stella Márquez in the year 1960, Margarita Paulina Gálvez in the year 1999 and Jeymmy Vargas in the year 2004. Miss Colombia has never won the Miss Universe title.
2016- 2017
Miss Colombia 2017 winner is Laura Gonzalez. Laura will now represent Colombia at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant.
2015
The 2015 edition of Miss Colombia was won by Andrea Tovar. Andrea represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2016.
2014
Miss Colombia 2014 (Concurso Nacional de Belleza de Colombia 2014) was held on November 17’ 2014 in the city of Cartagena de Indias and Ariadna María Gutiérrez Arévalo from Sucre was crowned Miss Colombia 2014. She represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2015.
2013
Paulina Vega Dieppa was crowned Miss Colombia 2013, aand represented Colombia at the Miss Universe 2014, where she was crowned as the winner.
