Miss Ireland is annual national beauty pageant held since 1947, to celebrate the country's most beautiful women. The winner of the pageant is selected to represent Ireland at the Miss World international pageant. At times, winners of the Miss Ireland pageant have been sent to Miss Universe international pageant.
The current reigning queen, Miss Ireland 2013, is Aoife Walsh. She competed in Miss World 2013 pageant, though remained unplaced at the event.
Ireland has won the Miss World title once in the history of the pageant, and that was in the year 2003, when representative from Ireland, the very beautiful Rosanna Davison was crowned Miss World 2003 on December 6' 2013 in China.
