Miss Maroc (Miss Morocco) is an annual national beauty pageant held in Morocco to select representative to compete at the international pageants of Miss World and Miss Universe. Lydia Marin was the first Miss Maroc to represent the newly independent nation of Morocco at Miss World 1956. The owner of the “Miss Maroc” trademark is Night Star Maroc.
Morocco made its debut at Miss World in the year 1956 but later in 1968, it stopped sending delegates to the pageant. In 1957, Morocco made its debut at Miss Universe until 1978 and in 1960 Morocco made a debut at Miss International until 1969. However, later it reestablished its membership with the Miss World and the Miss Universe pageant.
The winner of Miss Maroc represents her country and promotes Morocco’s National Tourism and Culture. The last Miss Maroc was held in the year 2012. Sarah Mouatamid is the reigning Miss Maroc who was crowned as Miss Maroc 2012 but did not represent at any pageant.
At the finals of Miss Maroc 2015, Sarah Mouatamid will pass on her crown and her reign to her successor.
