Miss Venezuela is a national beauty pageant in Venezuela that selects the country’s representatives to perform at Miss Universe. The Miss Venezuela pageant is organized under the direction of Osmel Sousa. Venezuela has accumulated more international pageant titles than any other country, including seven Miss Universe, six Miss World winners, six Miss International winners and two Miss Earth.
The pageant is conventionally held in September, preceded by two or three months of preliminary events, including the awarding of corporate prizes. The finale of the event telecast generally lasts about four hours and is televised live across Latin America by Venevision (the largest television network of Venezuela), with edited versions to the United States and Mexico on the Univision network.
Since 2013, the national pageant has been divided into two separate pageants – Miss Venezuela that selects representatives to Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth. And another one is Miss Venezuela Mundo that choose the representative to Miss World.
End number of entrants apply for the pageant each year. Some young women would try their luck for up to five or six years consecutively vying to get one of the 26 to 32 titles that will permit them to compete in the final pageant.
Miss Venezuela 2015, will be the 63 edition of the Miss Venezuela pageant is scheduled to be held on October 8, 2015 at the Estudio in Caracas, Venezuela.
At the end of the event, the reigning Miss Venezuela, Mariana Coromoto Jimenez Martinez will crown one of these 25 finalists as the winner of Miss Venezuela 2015.
