Miss International 2016, the 56th edition of the pageant, was held on 27th October 2016 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Kylie Verzosa from the Philippines was crowned the new queen by her predecessor Edymar Martínez from Venezuela at the end of the event finale. The pageant hosted by Tetsuya Bessho on his third consecutive year of Miss International. It was also the first edition that the finals night saw the return of the previous year's runners-up to crown their respective successors.
Alexandra Britton from Australia, Felicia Hwang Yi Xin from Indonesia, Brianny Chamorro from Nicaragua, and Kaitryana Leinbac from United States were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.
Top 15 also included Yoana Do from Argentina, Amber Bernachi from Canada, Cynthia Núñez from Dominican Republic, Elizabeth Cader from El Salvador, Emilia Seppänen from Finland, Jyunna Yamagata from Japan, Geraldine Ponce from Mexico, Magdalena Bienkowska from Poland, Alisa Manenok from Russia, Pattiya Pongthai from Thailand.
