Miss Universe 2016, the 65th edition of Miss Universe, was held on 30th January 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. 86 contestants from all across the world competed at the pageant and at the conclusion of the finale, Iris Mittenaere of France was crowned as the winner by her predecessor Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
Raquel Pelissier of Haiti was adjudged first runner-up while Andrea Tovar of Colombia was titled second runner-up. The judges for the finale were – former model and founder of famous fashion and modeling school, The Bailey Agency School of Fashion, Cynthia Bailey; Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres; Francine LeFrak; Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes; Editorial Director of the popular pop-culture and fashion magazine, PAPER, Mickey Boardman; Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori and Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen.
