The forty fifth edition of Miss Intercontinental was held on 16th October 2016 in Sri Lanka and Heilymar Rosario Velazquez of Puerto Rico was crowned as the winner. At the same pageant, Tracy Ann de Zilva of Sri Lanka was titled first runner-up, Vera Safoah of Ghana was adjudged second runner-up, Floriana Russo of Italy was titled third runner-up and Amal Karina Nemer finished as fourth runner-up.
The Miss Intercontinental Organisation made the official announcement about its finale date and venue as stated below...

Miss Intercontinental 2015 Valentina Rasulova from Russia will have the honour of crowning her successor in Colombo. The famous “STEIN STUDIOS” with a capacity of 1500 Pax will be the spectacular Venue of the Final and Coronation.
