The finale of Top Model of the World 2022/2023 was held on Friday, 3rd March 2023 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt where Mariana Macias Ornelas of Mexico was announced as the new Top Model of the World.

Mariana is 26 years of age and a model and business owner from Chapala, Jalisco. She bested over 40 other contestants to win the international title. Macias succeeds last year’s predecessor Nata´lie Kocendova´ of the Czech Republic.

Not a newbie to the pageantry, the newly awarded Top Model of the World winner previously won the title of Miss Grand Mexico 2021 and went on to compete in Miss Grand International 2021 in Bangkok, Thailand. Mariana is absolutely stunning and was a crown-favourite ever since the beginning of the competition.

Also at the finale, Leicy Rivas Moreno of Colombia and Sandani Peiris of Sri Lanka were adjudged as the first and second runners-up respectively while Danilka German of the Dominican Republic, Isabelle Linnea Åhs of Sweden and Sorn Likhitpaksorn Vajidsuwan of Thailand rounded out the Top 6 finalists. The representatives from Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Maldives, Puerto Rico, Romania, Serbia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zambia completed the Top 16 semifinalists.

Mariana became the first Mexican to win the international modelling competition. Top Model of the World began in Miami (USA) in 1993. Mariana is expected to take home cash and prizes from the event’s official sponsors as well as a management contract with WBO for one year.
