Aafreen Rachel Vaz, the first runner-up at Femina Miss India 2015 finals held on March 28' 2015 in Mumbai, will now represent India at Miss Supranational 2015 pageant to be held in December this year.
Earlier, she was supposed to represent India at Miss International 2015 as the first runner-up of Miss India is normally sent to Miss International pageant. Deviating from the norm, the organizers have chosen to send Aafreen to Miss Supranational pageant organized by World Beauty Association S.A. Aafreen is 25 years of age, and stands tall at 181 cm.
After her appointment as India's representative for Miss Supranational 2015, Aafreen said "I am so thrilled that I will represent India at Miss Supranational, a pageant that celebrates the confidence, performance and intelligence of a woman! I would like to thank the Miss India organization for giving me this wonderful opportunity and believing in me".
In 2014, India's Asha Bhat was crowned Miss Supranational 2014 at the finals of the pageant held at Hall of Sport, Krynica-Zdrój, Poland on December 5, 2014, becoming the first ever Miss Supranational title winner from India.
