In a conversation with the paparazzi, post her crowning, Abigail stated: “My intent is to bring a message that strengthens the bridge between culture and the changing times so young people, especially women, are more aware of what they are contributing to, and the type of influence they are exerting. I am passionate about making a difference, which may come across as a broad statement, but my personal motto is to – leave the place better than it was.” A beautiful mind, with beautiful heart, Abigail’s win does not come up as surprising.

During the pageant, Abigail also showcased her heritage from Gulf and Central Province, through her traditionally and culturally inspired dress. By experimenting with the variations of sarong to be donned, Abigail highlighted diverse ways of donning the same in Pacific Islands.

Belonging to the Gulf and Central parentage, Abigail will now represent PNG in the regional quest, the Miss Pacific Islands Beauty Pageant in Cook Islands later this year.
