Miss World Zimbabwe 2015 Annie Grace Mutambu

Annie Grace Mutambu was crowned as the new Miss World Zimbabwe 2015 on June 26’ 2015, in the second take of the scandalous pageant, replacing Emily Tatanga Kachote, after the latter was dethroned due to violating the rules and regulations due to having nude pictures. Soon after the crowning, Annie was mugged by a gang of robbers. The attack took place on the same night of her crowning and she lost her laptop. She was with her sister, who also lost a mobile phone.

Mutambu’s mother clarified the incident to the media and said that the two were robbed by six men who were in a red VW Golf. “They were walking from my sister’s house, five minutes’ walk from our house, around 7pm, in Monroe Street. As they were walking from the house, they saw the VW Golf parked. The men approached them, saying they wanted to ask them something. Sensing danger, they walked on fast and three other men came out of the car. One attempted to hug her, but she refused and the three jumped on her.  Her sister tried to fight them off. The girls started screaming, attracting the attention of neighbours who opened their gate. When the robbers realised that there was activity they drove off, but one of them grabbed the laptop and the phone.

During the incident, Annie Grace was kicked in the chest and her sister in the stomach. The case was reported at Braeside Police Station. 19 years old Annie Grace completed her studies from Dominican Convent School in Harare and is currently a student. She will be representing Zimbabwe at the Miss World 2015 pageant to be held in Sanya, China on December.
