The countdown for the Miss Grand International 2015 pageant has begun and various pageant communities have already come up with their list of the early favourites for the pageant. Amidst all the preparation and celebration, the MGI organization recently issued an official statement following the terror threats clouding Thailand. In their official statement, the organization stated that the country is safe and the contestants and their families do not need to worry about the safety of the delegates. Below is the transcript of the official announcement -
“Throughout the past few days, one person using several social media handles has been trying to disrupt our competition by posting frequent threads about “Terror threats” and his post says that Thailand isn’t safe.
The person “Janpirre” is also known for doing “cyber-terrorism” and defamation, attacking on beauty pageants based on rumors, lies and inventions that just formed by his own distorted mind.
His motto behind all that was to let down the prestige of the Miss Grand International Organizers. Using several handles, he has been contacting contestants directly and trying to convince them not to travel Thailand, so he can ruin our plans.
The biggest news portals of the world have reported on the arrest of the person who was responsible for the bombing in Bangkok last month.
Miss Grand International organization assures 100% safety of the contestants and we consider the safety of our delegates as our first and foremost priority. All relevant steps have been taken care to ensure that this edition of the Miss Grand International will be the most successful event till date.
We are all prepared to welcome our all delegates in Thailand and make sure that this will be an exciting and unforgettable journey ever.
