Denielle Joie Magno, Binibini 2, is one of the gorgeous Filipino beauties amongst the finalists competing in the 56th edition of Binibining Pilipinas pageant i.e. Binibining Pilipinas 2019. The stunning Filipina has always been a proud Morena and never hesitated or shied away from being proud of her dusky skin colour and spreading the message of body positivity.
The 25-year-old Filipina who has plenty of experience in the pageant world recently shared her thoughts and the problematic portrayal of Morena women in Filipino advertisements. She questioned the entire premise of why being a person with tanned complexion should be considered or seen any less than others.
The stunning Denielle took to her social media and expressed, “What’s wrong with my skin colour? I’ve been seeing ads about how being a Morena is a disadvantage. Is this really the kind of society that we are living in today? Judgements based on complexion?” The diva recalled name-calling she had to go through as a little girl for having a dark complexion and how at an early age she was made to seep in the belief that “only white is beautiful.”
She further expressed how everyone is beautiful in their own way and the matter of the colour of skin should never ever be an issue. Her fans have been supporting the diva for her courageous questioning and complimenting her for her beautiful skin complexion.
Denielle through her message wanted to imbibe the same level of self-acceptance and self-love for one’s own skin colour. Earlier, the gorgeous diva had expressed relief and gratefulness towards Filipinos who have started to appreciate all kinds of skin tones as she believes that beauty is really diverse.
The stunner is definitely amongst the strongest contestant of this year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant. She previously was in the top 10 of Miss World Philippines 2018 along with pageantry experience in other minor pageants.
