Binibining Pilipinas 2020 returns with showcasing best in national costumes inspired by Filipina heroes

31 Oct 2020 | Camilla Suarez

After a long halt, the Binibining Pilipinas organization has turned on it’s lights for the Binibining Pilipinas 2020 beauty pageant by showcasing the first Best in National Costumes inspired by the Filipina heroes. The organization would reveal all the forty costumes in the first week of November but just to give a little sneak peak, they have released the stunning national costume photo of Binibining Pilipinas candidate No. 1 Samantha Alexandra Panlilio from Cavite.

Samantha mentioned that her national costume was designed by Klevin Bartolaba and it symbolizes Cavite’s national heroes; the thirteen martyrs who led the Philippine revolution against Spain in 1896 as seen on the faces sculpted in the crown. “The gown is made of local Filipino fabric. The wings are made of real feathers and tainted with gold to symbolize our kalayaan. The belt colors represent our victory,” she added.

The diva who is the first candidate to be revealed in her National Costume stated that the shape of her crown was inspired by her aunt’s Binibining Pilipinas Universe crown. She is the niece of the first Binibining Pilipinas queen, the late Myrna Panlilio who represented the country at the Miss Universe 1964 pageant.

The beautiful best in national costumes of the other Binibinis will be unveiled next week and hopefully the beauty pageant will kick off the halted activities of the Binibining Pilipinas 2020 soon.

Over thirty stunning beauties from all over the country have been selected to compete at the Binibining Pilipinas 2020 edition for the national titles and an opportunity to represent the Phillippines at international stage. The competition was initially postponed to 31st May 2020 but it seems like the situation is still not ideal to host a competition. The BPCI announced that the 57th edition of Binibining Pilipinas will only be held after the situation in the country minimalizes; either in December 2020 or onset of summer 2021.
