Binibining Pilipinas Organization unveiled the Top 40 delegates on 6th February 2020 as these Top 40 divas will fight for the national titles and the chance to represent Philippines at various international pageants. The well-known face of the Philippines Vickie Rushton was awarded Binibini No. 36 as she secured her rightful spot in the Top 40 along with other Filipina beauties.
Vickie Marie Rushton is 27-years-old and stands 168cm tall with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod and graduated in 2013. She is originally from Talisay, Negros Occidental, presently living in Manila, Philippines. Vickie currently works as a Filipino actress, model and a beauty pageant titleholder.
Vickie Rushton is not new to the pageantry world as she entered the world of pageant in 2011 when she was crowned as Mutya ng Pilipinas. Before she got crowned with this provincial title, she was a Lin-ay sang Negros who represented the city of Talisay in the year 2009. Rushton eventually garnered more exposure in the public eye when she became a housemate in the reality TV show - Pinoy Big Brother: All In, where she finished at 4th place. Vickie’s major achievement was when she participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2018 where she was crowned the first runner-up. She went back and participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2019 where she was considered one of the strongest and audience’s favorite contestant but fumbled while giving an answer during the question and answer round of the competition and due to this unfortunate incident, she was not placed in the next round.
Vickie’s determination to win the title of Binibining Pilipinas has brought back the diva under the pageantry and she deserves a last try to her coveted dream before her age becomes a barrier. She is surely a tough competition as this is going to be her third try in the pageant. She is surely to give her best shot for the competition and has already started to prepare for the same.
Vickie, at an early age was weighed down by the family responsibilities, which is why she participated in various pageants to be able to earn money as she was the breadwinner in her household. The diva did no let any obstacle stand in her way and emerged victorious from every challenging situation in her life. She has great speaking skills and will focus on being prepared for the interview round better and stronger than before.
Vickie is and advocate for the people with Down Syndrome and people with disabilities. She wants to raise awareness about the want to urge people to be considerate towards the people who deal with it. Her kindness and love for others has always made her one of the most loves contestants in the pageantry world. She has her focus on raising awareness about mental health as well. She explained that while she was growing up, she was bullied and it affected her mental and physical health to an extent where she was not able to cope up with it. She wants to use the opportunity or a platform given to her to empower and inspire other people and remind them that self-love is important for everyone to be productive. She loves to travel and spend her time in the picturesque hilly areas where she can rejuvenate herself in the nature. She has a charming and gregarious personality and can be a strong contender for the title.
The 57th edition of Binibining Pilipinas i.e., Bininbining Pilipinas 2020 will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. The pageant will award four titles to Philippine representatives to four major international beauty pageants which are Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2020, Binibining Pilipinas International 2020, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2020, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2020 and Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2020.
