Trending on social media since past few days, the controversies at Miss Earth does not seem to finish. It has been the second time since Miss Earth’s inauguration that, Miss Earth has been held outside the host nation, Philippines. Last year many rumors and controversies enclosed the Miss Earth pageant, wherein it was reported that Miss Netherlands fell ailing due to unhygienic food. The anguish doesn’t seem to conclude, even in this edition.

This year, the chain of controversy heated up when Ting Wen-yin, Taiwan's representative at Miss Earth 2015 posted on her facebook page that the organizers failed to afford lunch for contestants on two occasions, nor leaving the time to buy their own lunch. She complained that dinner was either some bread or some rather unappetizing pasta with tomato sauce.

The nuisance the controversy had instigated was not settled down yet, when another controversy bubbled out at Miss Earth 2015. Last night, the 22 years old, Ting Wen-Yin again revealed that she has been kicked out of the Miss Earth pageant for declining to wear a sash that reads "Miss Chinese Taipei" instead of the "Miss Taiwan ROC" that she is now currently wearing. She was found reflecting on her facebook page: "Over the last three nights, we were shuffled from nightclub to nightclub, wearing beautiful clothes to talk and dance with men. I felt like a club hostess. So it might be a blessing in disguise that I'm out of this contest. We paid large sums of money to enter the contest, but we're treated little better than prisoners." She also added, that she had been warned of the possibility of political pressure from China prior to she made her way to Vienna.

Aggravated by the matter, she expressed: "I told them 30,000 times that Taiwan is Taiwan. I was born in Taiwan, my sash now says Taiwan, I represent Taiwan, and I'm going to use the name of Taiwan in appearing at this pageant." She added: "Their response to me was, 'change your sash or just leave'. Today, they did not allow me to stand on stage and photographers were not allowed to take my pictures."

Very soon, Danielle Latimer, Miss Grand International Wales 2015, posted on facebook: “I have many friends at Miss Earth that have messaged me saying they are hungry because they haven’t received dinner since they arrived! Yes, I was a contestant at Miss Grand International but I also have integrity and it’s not in my interest to sabotage any pageant as I don’t compete anymore. I am just worried for my friends. Feed them more ME!”

Do you believe such incidents will tarnish Miss Earth’s reputation?
