Cynthia Magpatoc Thomalla was crowned Sinulog Festival Queen 2016. A tourism student at the University of Cebu Banilad campus, Cynthia also bagged a number of special awards, including Miss Photogenic, Miss Kokuryo Cosmetics, Miss OLX Philippines, Yamaha Rev Queen, Miss Lecit-E, and SM Festival Queen.

At the same event, Marianne Hernandez of Carcar City was adjudged first runner-up, Ceydney Basallo of Don Sergio Memorial National High School was titled second runner-up, Hyra Desiree Betito of Asturias was titled third runner-up and Reignna Azucena Mondoy of Catbalogan finished as fourth runner-up.

The competition showcased the 11 contestants’ beauty and their devotion to the Show. The pageant was held at the Cebu City Sports Complex at 7 p.m. last Friday. Thomalla’s costume was inspired by the colors of the garments worn by  Virgin Mary.

In 2013, Thomalla was crowned Miss Pintados in Leyte. The beauty queen will now represent the Philippines in the upcoming Purwakarta World Cultural Festival 2016, to be held in Indonesia.
