The fourth edition Miss Eco International is slated to take place on 27th April 2018 in Cairo, Egypt. Amber Bernachi of Canada will crown her successor at the event of the event finale.

Miss Eco International pageant started in 2015 by Egyptian entrepreneur Amaal Rezk when Patricia Peklar of Slovenia bet 14 other candidates and was crowned as the first ever Miss Eco International pageant winner. Since its inception, the pageant is going strong and is ready to step into its 4th edition.

While all the eighty finalists are yet to be announced, there is one familiar face, that makes us believe, that the Miss Eco International 2018 crown might be worn by a Filipina this time.

Miss ECO Philippines 2017 Cynthia Magpatoc Thomalla was one of four Top 5 favourites for the crown of Miss World Philippines in 2017 when Laura Victoria Lehmann won.

She was born in Germany but has always been proud to say that she was raised in the Philippines. The Cebuana beauty has a face that has an eminent sophistication. Every photo of her tells of her romance with the camera.

Cynthia has just received her send off to the Miss Eco International 2018 pageant in Egypt.

During her send-off, Cynthia answered a media question that asked about the waste management issue in Siargao and the temporary closure of Boracay.

Cynthia’s reply to this was, "For me, it should be the traveller who should be responsible for their trash. If they're travelling, they should know how to pick up their trash and throw it properly...Everyone should be aware of how to take care of our planet because only have one planet...Everyone should be an eco-warrior and everyone should be environmentally friendly."

Miss Eco International aims to promote eco-tourism and also help cancer survivors. With regards to her advocacy for the competition, Cynthia said that she's aiming for sustainable tourism and responsible travelling.

"I'm really close to this advocacy because I love to travel. And I want the world, the travellers, to know how to be responsible when travelling like bringing metallic straws to lessen the use of plastic, and also helping the locals when it comes to the environment," she said.

Let’s see if this Filipina proves our prediction right and takes home the crown.
