Danika Atchia crowned Miss Mauritius 2015 for Miss Universe 2016

At the grand slam finale of Miss Mauritius 2015, 17 years old Danika Atchia hailing from Moka was crowned Miss Universe Mauritius 2016 and will represent Mauritius at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Danika succeeds Kushboo Ramnawaj Miss Mauritius 2014, who will represent Mauritius at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

In addition to winning the title, the 17 years old also won the title of Miss Elegance, Miss Talent and Miss Sports. She was able to convince the jury with a contemporary dance number. "When I heard my name, I was surprised, especially since I have encountered some difficulties to the test questions and answers. I thought it would play against me”, said, all smiles, Danika Atchia. The Miss Mauritius 2015 pageant also witnessed a new crown this year, which is somewhat inspired by the new Miss Universe crown.

At the same event,  19 years old Véronique Allas was crowned Miss World Mauritius 2016 and Manjusha Faugoo, 23, was elected Miss International Mauritius 2016. They will represent Mauritius at the Miss World 2016 and Miss International 2016 pageants respectively. 18 years old Anne-Sophie Lutchmana was adjudged the first runner-up and  20 years old Navisha Doolaub was titled as the second runner-up.

After the coronation ceremony, Danika received the keys of her new Nissan Micra car. The Miss Mauritius pageant goes through several layers of competitions, under which the contestants parade in swimsuits, evening gowns and exhibiting the designer creations of renowned Fashion designers. The finals of Miss Mauritius 2015 gave a small flashback of the 45 years of journey of the organization.

The 12 finalists of the 45th Miss Mauritius 2015 Pageant were Noosha Guckool Melanie Lebrasse, Anne-Sophie Lutchmana, Ema Daby, Manjusha Faugoo, Mary Estelle Chrisfania Ah Hon, Emanuella Ramen, Danika Atchia Veronique Allas, Jessica Ramessur, and Yashni Jagernauth Navisha Doolub.

Aurélie Begue (Miss World Mauritius 2014) will fly to China on 19 December for the Miss World 2015 pageant. And Anoushka Ah Keng (Miss International Mauritius 2014), will represent the country in the Miss International 2015, to be held on 5 November in Japan.
