Roshanara Ebrahim appointed as an ambassador for beauty brand

Last year, Miss World Kenya 2016 Roshanara Ebrahim was dethroned from the title as breached the organisation’s code of conduct and contract. The 23 year model has now been appointed as the first beauty brand ambassador for the Rootia hair brand and will market and promote the brand.

Rootia company is Japan’s second largest consumer healthcare company. It was incorporated in Kenya in May 2013 with the aim of expanding the Group’s network in Africa. Rohto Mentholatum (K) Ltd is founded on a mission to develop the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry in Kenya and the East African Region. The announcement was made by Rohto Mentholatum Kenya Ltd’s Managing Director, Fumiko Akojima, “We are delighted to partner with Roshanara on our journey. Roshanara has been an icon in the fashion and beauty industry. Talking about the product, Roshanara says, “My passion for hair perfectly matches that of Rootia, especially as we look to continuously inspire and grow healthy hair on a healthy scalp.”

Prior to her dethronement, the budding law student was positive had partnered with Smile Train to help children with cleft lip get their smiles back. Reacting to her dethronement news, Roshanara said, “It is with great sadness that I accept the decision of Miss World Kenya office to relinquish me of my duties as Miss World Kenya 2016. I urge aspiring beauty queens to ensure their personal life does not affect their role as Miss World Kenya. I wish my successor the best as we look to clinching top position in the Miss World competition later in the year.”
