Emerald Nyein hailing from Yangon was crowned Miss International Myanmar 2015, defeating 19 other equally stunning girls. Emerald will now represent Myanmar at the Miss International 2015 pageant to be held in Tokyo, Japan. 21 years old Emerald also won the special award of Miss Popularity.
Emerald is not new to the pageant world and has been a contestant of Miss Universe Myanmar 2014. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Dagon Univeristy and is a freelance model in Myanmar. Emerald is a renowned personality back in Myanmar and has graced many magazine covers and fashion editorials. She has featured in assorted music videos and various advertisements. Emerald plans to pursue a further carrier in acting.
After a long wait of almost 51 years, Myanmar made its comeback to the Miss International pageant in the year 2012. The contestants of Miss International Myanmar 2015 competed in various events and also made visits to financial institutions, hotels and charitable events. The finale of Miss International Myanmar 2015 saw the contestants competing in swimsuit and evening gown rounds. At the same event, Thadar Mariah was adjudged as the first runner-up and Hkawng Nan was adjudged as the second runner-up.
