Emily Kachote crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2015

At the gala finale of Miss World Zimbabwe 2015 held on Saturday April 25th 2015 at Mermaid Pool Resort in Harare, Zimbabwe, Emily Tatanga Kachote from Harare has been adjudged the winner and crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2015. She succeeds the outgoing queen Tendai Hunda who represented Zimbabwe at Miss World 2014.

Emily is 25 years of age and stands tall at 173 cm.  She will now represent Zimbabwe at Miss World 2015 pageant to be held later this year. In 2011, Emily was crowned Miss Harare, though she did not manage to win Miss Zimbabwe crown then.

Annie-Grace Mutambu was the first runner-up and Chengetai Kanonhuwa was the second runner-up. Anissa Ndiriwani was awarded Miss Talent title, while Vanessa Mutemasango won the special award for Miss Personality.

The remaining finalists who competed for the crown included Nicolette Nyathi, Veronica Chitandwe, Vanessa Mbeti, Dephine Kuzvidza, Melody Muza, Nokulunga Nyathi, Melody Chitsungo, Panashe Pfende, Hilda Mabu and Rairo Chengetai Gunguwo.

The pageant finale was a four and a half hour long event that was screened live on ZTV. It was also live streamed on the Internet, albeit via a service that allowed a maximum of 50 viewers at a time. Entertainment was provided by Trevor Dongo, Drum Café, Mudiwa Hood and Leonard Karikoga Zhakata.
