Filipina beauty pageant titleholder, Rizzini Alexis Gomez, who was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2012, has passed away battling lung cancer for a long time. She was only 25.

Gomez was crowned Miss Tourism International 2012 at the finals held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 31. She also competed at Miss World Philippines 2012.

Rizzini was the daughter of former PBA player Roel Gomez. She studied nursing at the University of Cebu-Banilad. She also joined Miss Cebu 2009 where she placed 1st runner-up after Ms. Kris Tiffany Janson was crowned as Miss Cebu 2009. At the same event, she was also bestowed with Best in Evening Gown title.

Rizzini Alexis Gomez was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. She died at the age 25 on October 13, 2015. The Miss Tourism International website also paid tribute to Rizzini with a graphic. The Official Facebook Page of Mutya ng Pilipinas read, "A Cebuana who ruled the global pageantry scene. A great loss... Our deepest sympathy and prayers. Filipinos will always be proud of you.”
