?Ever since the foundation of the Miss South Africa pageant, it has pioneered many intelligent and beautiful ambassadors for the country. Miss South Africa 2015 has officially commenced with its journey to the finale and twelve (12) finalists out of the twenty-four semi-finalists have been announced. The Miss South Africa finalists are Busi Mahlangu; Chanelle Sardinha; Danelle de Wet; Gugulethu Banda; Kim Wentzel; Liesl Laurie; Nicole Lee Lamberts; Ntsiki Mkhize; Refilwe Mthimunye; Shanè Naidoo; Sihle Makhanya and Taryn Morris.
This year, the twelve finalists who will be vying for the Miss South Africa 2015 crown will be mentored by twelve former title holders of Miss South Africa. The former Miss South Africa winners who will guide and share their experiences with this year’s finalists are - Wilma van der Bijl (1987); Bernelee Daniell (1995); Peggy-Sue Khumalo (1996); Sonia Raciti (1998); Jo-Ann Strauss (2000); Vanessa Carreira (2001); Cindy Nell (2002); Joan Ramagoshi (2003); Nokuthula “Thuli” Sithole (2005); Tatum Keshwar (2008); Nicole Flint (2009) and Bokang Montjane (2010).
The former winners seemed really excited and energized to pass on their experience and knowledge to their successors. Jo-Ann Strauss, Miss South Africa 2000 gave her share of advice to the finalists and said, “Stay true to who you are and what you believe in, be fearless, pursue your passion and live your life with integrity and honesty. Ensure you use the platform you have been given to transform many lives. In the words of life coach Paul Bryant: ‘Show class, have pride and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself’”
Vanessa Carreira winner of Miss South Africa 2001 expressed her joy and said, “I would have been very grateful for industry know-how and sound advice when I was crowned Miss South Africa 14 years ago. This year's finalists will certainly benefit from the one-on-one interaction with their predecessors.”
The Miss South Africa 2015 pageant is scheduled to be held on March 29’2015 at the Sun City Resort, and simulcast live on Mzansi Magic Channel 161 and M-Net Channel 101. On the night of coronation, Ziphozakhe Zokufa, the current Miss South Africa, will pass on her crown and the honour to represent South Africa on an international platform, to her successor.
