Miss Tourism International 2020/2021 is all set to be held on 17th January 2021 through online judging because of covid-19 restrictions around the world. The winner will succeed Miss Tourism International 2019/20 Cyrille Payumo.

Philippines already holds five Miss Tourism International crowns; last year, Cyrille Payumo from Philippines won the fifth crown for her country. This year, Kathie Lee Berco has been chosen to represent Philippines at the 2020/21 edition and its safe to say that Philippines stand yet another chance to bring a sixth crown home and create a back-to-back win.

Standing 168 cm tall, Kathie is a Political Science student of San Sebastian College, Manila. She was handpicked by Ovette Ricalde of Megastar Productions, the appointed national director for the online tilt, after long-time franchise holder Mutya Pilipinas Inc. decided to skip this year’s contest because of the pandemic.

Being a student of political science, Kathie has learned the value of leadership and how it should be properly executed by the authorities to create a conducive living and working environment for all. “Despite the growing conflicts in between citizens and the government, I can honestly tell that we still got genuine leaders who can redefine the present situation of politics. It gives me hope for the future. And so I envision so much about working with these type of leaders soon”, she quotes.

She also believes that technology and human efforts together can help eradicate major issues globally such as poverty, disease and environment degradation. “Unprecedented technological capabilities combined with unlimited human creativity have given us tremendous power to take on intractable problems like poverty, unemployment, disease, and environmental degradation. Our challenge is to translate this extraordinary potential into meaningful change”, she says.

Kathie is definitely a beauty with brains who is ready to give a strong competition to the other forty-four delegates who will compete for the coveted crown virtually. If Kathie brings the crown home, she will be able to create a back-to-back win for her country and in our opinion, she is more than capable to do so. What do you think?
