A Donalds woman will hold a coronation at her family’s Donalds farm after being crowned Miss Rodeo South Carolina. Kayla Caudle was recently crowned Miss Rodeo South Carolina and will be holding a coronation ceremony at Roan Creek Farms in Donalds on April 17. The coronation will include barrel racing, live music, an auction and a BBQ dinner.

The 23-year-old grad student is the first representative from the Palmetto State in the Miss Rodeo America pageant in more than three decades. “I am honored to be able to represent South Carolina at the Miss Rodeo America pageant this coming December,” Caudle said.

As Miss Rodeo South Carolina, Caudle says she will be focused on bringing a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association presence to South Carolina, and plans to add a new PRCA rodeo each year thereafter. “I believe South Carolina is home to some of the most talented rodeo athletes and competitors and I would love to help create more opportunities for them to showcase their abilities in their home state,” Caudle said.

Caudle says she also plans to build a Miss Rodeo South Carolina Pageant program and Board to allow young ladies to follow her footsteps and represent South Carolina at the state level, as well as the Miss Rodeo America pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Caudel says she is not deterred by the high bar, she has set for herself.

“I realize that these are lofty goals, but not impossible with the right support system in place,” Caudle said. “The first order of business is to create fundraising events to ensure my year as Miss Rodeo South Carolina is successful as well as to help build an organization that will provide a solid foundation for our future state queens.”
