Kazakhstan has now decided to split its representatives for the Miss Universe and the Miss World pageants, by organising two different contests for both the pageant. Agency San Bell made the announcement last week in a press conference that from now on the winner of Miss Kazakhstan will go on to represent at the Miss World pageant. And the representatives for the Miss Universe pageant will be selected through the Miss Almaty pageant.
Almaty is the largest city of Kazakhstan and the Miss Almaty agent organisers will be solely responsible for funding the participation of the delegate in the Miss Universe contest. Howwever, the winner of Miss Almaty pageant will also qualify for the Miss Kazakhstan. And if she wins the Miss Kazakhstan title, she will be representing both at the Miss World as well as the Miss Universe pageant, provided there is no conflict.
It has been said and talked about often that the process of selection of representatives from Kazakhstan to Miss World and Miss Universe has been haphazard and chaotic. And it’s because of this chaotic selection of delegates that the country’s participation at the Miss World last year was cancelled. The reigning Miss Kazakhstan, Regina Vandysheva will be competing at the Miss World 2015 this December in Sanya, China.
