Lia Duarte Ashmore (aka Leah Ashmore) Miss Grand Paraguay 2017 is a giving some tough competition as the representative of Paraguay in Miss Grand International 2017. A model by profession, this 22-year-old queen stands at 178 cm while she weighs 62 kg and has a commendable body figure of 34-24-36.

A student of marketing at Universidad Americana in Paraguay, Lia hails from a small town called Villarrica in Paraguay. She can be called the quintessential queen of languages as she has a grip over four different languages namely, Spanish, English, Portuguese and Guarani.

Her mother belongs to South Africa, which played a major role in her love for Oceans. As a child, Lia was known to be adventurous and do different things. In her own words, there is nothing in this world that she wouldn’t try. Her love for freedom and independence from an early age of 12 has led her to take this path of pageants and modelling. A dreamer at heart, Lia wants to one day run for Presidency and help people achieve their dreams and aspirations.

Lia was crowned Miss Grand Paraguay 2017 at the finale of the pageant held on 29th July 2017 at Centro Paraguayo Japonés, after which she has put her heart and soul in the preparations especially in physical, intellectual and psychological aspects with professionals from MGM Productions, Paraguayan managers and franchise holders of the international pageants.

In her own words, Lia admits,

“I hate to see anyone settling for less than excellent, so sometimes I am criticised for being a little pushy; but the reason is that I have an irresistible drive to push people beyond their limits and to see them fulfil their maximum potential.”

On 'Stop the War and Violence' campaign, her views are "War and violence destroy our present and even our future. Where there is no peace, there is no progress. We are all responsible for it. We have to love more and be more open to accepting other people's point of view, and find ways to meet one another in the middle, avoiding conflict and destruction."

This perfectionist who believes in keep going until you reach the target definitely stands out in Miss Grand International contest as a confident, tall, amicable and determined queen who has a target set for her.
