Manushi Chhilllar Miss World 2017 gives a befitting reply to Pakistan Media

Reigning Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar is on cloud nine after her crowning on 19th November 2017. From media interactions, award functions to meeting the Honourable Prime Minister of India, she seems to be present everywhere. And why not, it’s her time finally.

Ask her a question on any topic, whether politics or Bollywood, our queen has a right answer for all. The same happened during a media interaction when she was faced with a question on comparisons with Pakistan’s women and their beauty; she had a befitting reply for them.

The media person said there are talks and debates happening among Pakistan’s media where they are saying that the women of Pakistan are more beautiful than the women in India, but in a Burkha (a long, loose garment covering the whole body from head to feet). He asked her, “When you listen to such talks happening among the neighbouring country, what do you gather from such talks?”

Now you might think that queen Manushi would rather ignore such questions to avoid any controversies, but what’s impressive about her is she had a witty and kind of sarcastic answer for those media people in Pakistan.

She said, “It’s not just about outer beauty of a woman. If you would have seen Miss World, then you would have realized every woman was very beautiful, but how you perceive and use your outer beauty to help and do good for other people, Miss World is all about that. It’s not the most beautiful face that wins. Just that one beautiful heart is selected to represent those beautiful faces. It doesn’t matter which country you are from, to be honest. It is that one person and how you contribute to the world.”

Donning a beautiful green and golden Anarkali (flares) suit by fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani, this lady is surely an epitome of subtlety. Her answer in this context was bang on. There do not have to be comparisons always. A woman is beautiful, no matter which country or religion she belongs to. We can’t ignore the inner beauty of a girl, if she is beautiful inside, then she is no doubts beautiful outside.

It also doesn’t matter what dress code she follows, whether a skirt, dress or a Burkha. If a country like Pakistan is measuring a women’s beauty on the basis of outer appearance or how well a woman has covered her body and face, then that’s utterly wrong on many levels. It’s high time the people anywhere in the world should realize that the things that actually matter have nothing to do with nationality and exterior beauty.

Well done Manushi for spreading the message of inner beauty through this statement. Way to go girl!
