She expressed her views on having celebrity parents by saying that people definitely have some misconception for the children of celebrities, people assume that they aren’t friendly and are snobs, but once they get to know me, they realized its actually easy to talk to me, ‘she further added’.
Her father who is a Veteran actor Christopher De Leon could not help but express his overwhelming happiness over his daughter’s win at the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 as Miss Philippines International. In his father’s lengthy instagram post, he posted an old picture with his daughter sharing a paternal kiss.
The actor, despite having one of the most stellar careers in local showbiz, said, “This is the most exciting time of my life” and he is very “happy and proud” of Mariel’s accomplishments. Known for having come from a family of showbiz personalities, his daughter earned a new achievement as she became the “first new beauty queen in our clan.”
De Leon’s wife and Mariel’s mother, actress Sandy Andolong also shared the above post on her Instagram account. Their posts were then flooded by the posts of their well wishers and fans and also happy for the Marial’s win. Isn’t that sweet!
