In early May, a launch party of Miss Universe Iceland was hosted by the Organisation in Reykjavik at the host hotel CenterHotels Plaza. The Miss Universe Iceland promises to bring a modern contemporary competition to the country that has not been seen before.

More than 100 applicants joined in to compete for the coveted title, but after months of screenings, personal castings, Skype calls, FaceTime interviews and social media blasts the list has been narrowed down to 21 girls.

The coming few months are going to be extremely tight for the girls, as they will be meeting the sponsors, taking part in group activities, photoshoots, interview etc. The final round will include a personal interview, swimsuit and evening gown competition, as well as media events.
