Miss World Guyana pageant is finally on board with its 2017 edition and 14 stunners have been shortlisted who will now compete for the coveted title of Miss World Guyana 2017. The 14 semi-finalists of Miss World Guyana 2017 are -

The pageant is going to be a jam packed series of events for the contestants. On 30th April, the girls will take up the stage to talk about their Beauty with a Purpose project. Adding to this, the Semi-finalists will also kickstart a shared national campaign dubbed “Self-Love GY” within the month of April after which, the top 10 finalists will be selected and will each be appointed to represent one (1) of the country’s 10 administrative regions.
The Franchise holder and chairwoman of the Miss World Guyana Committee, Natasha Martindale aims at improving the entire process of the pageant from a personal brand. Guyana’s performance at Miss World pageant has seen a bit of improvement in recent years. In 2014, Rafieya Husain made it to the Top 11 finalists, after winning the Beauty with a Purpose segment. In 2015, Lisa Punch also cracked the Top 11 slot after winning the Talent segment.
Once the Top 10 finalists are selected, they will undergo a series of personal development challenges which includes Sports/Fitness, Multimedia, Talent, Top Model and Beauty with a Purpose. Each will be judged according to three scaled levels: One (1) being low, three (3) being average and five (5) being Excellent. At the end of each challenge, the finalists will be interviewed in order to further analyze the growth and strength of their communication skills. Preliminary scores from these challenge events will be added to the final round on Coronation night.
At the conclusion of the finale of Miss World Guyana 2017, Miss Guyana World 2016, Nuriyyih Gerrard will pass on her crown to her successor.
