From Miss World in 2016 to Miss Universe in 2018, Catriona Gray left everyone in her awe as she won the Miss Universe 2018 crown after back breaking work of two years. From not winning in Miss World to being a sure-shot winner in Miss Universe from the very beginning, Filipina Catriona Gray proved that dedication and hard work are the only stepping stones to success, no matter how big a failure looks.

Now, since Catriona’s reign has ended, the pageant fanatics are in search of their next queen who can get the coveted Miss Universe crown for the country. In our opinion, Michelle Dee Miss World Philippines 2019 can definitely follow in the similar footsteps of our Lava queen and switch from Miss World to Miss Universe next year.

As Miss Universe Philippines organization has left the wing of Binibining Pilipinas from this year, Michelle Dee could definitely be a part of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and dazzle everyone with her elegance and allure. The Filipina beauty queen, athlete, model and a TV Presenter has unique character traits that make her not only a strong woman but also a fierce competitor.

The 23-year-old daughter of supermodel and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, Michelle is not just a beauty with brains, her genes also scream Beauty Queen in every sense of the way. She attended the De La Salle University in Manila and has graduated with a degree in Psychology. Michelle stands a whopping 180 cm tall which only gives her an added advantage in the coveted competition.

The model entered the world of fashion in 2016 as a model for Filipino clothing store Bench. Michelle Dee’s first stint in pageantry was in 2019 as she was crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Philippines after which she went onto represent Philippines at Miss World 2019.

Catriona’s first pageant was Miss World Philippines 2016 just as Michelle’s debut was also in 2019 at the same pageant. Catriona represented her country in Miss World 2016 where she unfortunately did not win the crown but placed in the Top 5. Likewise, Michelle represented her country in Miss World where she too failed to win the crown but won a spot in the Top 40.

Catriona then went on to compete in Miss Universe in 2018 and won the crown for her country for the fourth time. Michelle too can achieve the same feat if she tries her best. The stunning beauty has been taught to be a confident, strong and independent woman by her stunning mother and also believes that she is self-assured enough to not feel insecure and give a tough competition to the ladies at a pageant.

Michelle’s experience into the pageantry world and confidence with which she presents herself on the stage is commendable and one of the reasons why she can be a strong competition. Just like Catriona Gray Miss Universe 2018, Michelle Dee has all the abilities to represent her country at the Miss Universe level.
