At the grand coronation night of Miss America 2019 held yesterday at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, Miss New York 2018 Nia Imani was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss America 2018 Cara Mund.
The finale was the 92nd edition of the pageant as major changes were made to the competition this year. The 25-year-old gorgeous representative of New York gave an extraordinary performance at the finale as well as throughout the competition. Miss America 2019 Nia Imani’s court included –
1st Runner-Up: Miss Connecticut 2018 Bridget Oei
2nd Runner-Up: Miss Louisiana 2018 Holli' Conway
3rd Runner-Up: Miss Florida 2018 Taylor Tyson
4th Runner-Up: Miss Massachusetts 2018 Gabriela Taveras
The panel of judges at the finale of Miss America 2019 included professional boxer Laila Ali, radio host Bobby Bones, Grammy-winning producer and musician Randy Jackson, country singer and TV personality Jessie James Decker, TV journalist Soledad O'Brien, entrepreneur and podcast host Alli Webb and singer/songwriter Carnie Wilson.
From the fifty-one contestants that competed for the title, Top 15 delegates were announced – Miss New York 2018 Nia Franklin, Miss Connecticut 2018 Bridget Oei, Miss Louisiana 2018 Holli' Conway, Miss Florida 2018 Taylor Tyson, Miss Massachusetts 2018 Gabriela Taveras, Miss Alabama 2018 Callie Walker, Miss Colorado 2018 Ellery Jones, Miss District of Columbia 2018 Allison Farris, Miss Idaho 2018 Nina Forest, Miss Nebraska 2018 Jessica Shultis, Miss Indiana 2018 Lydia Tremaine, Miss Minnesota 2018 Michaelene Karlen, Miss Oklahoma 2018 Ashley Thompson, Miss Washington 2018 Danamarie McNicholl and Miss Wisconsin 2018 Tianna Vanderhei.
A number of special awards were also given out throughout the competition; at the On Stage Interview preliminary competition, Miss Massachusetts 2018 Gabriela Taveras, Miss Virginia 2018 Emili McPhail and Miss Wisconsin 2018 Tianna Vanderhei emerged as the winner. At the Talent competition, Miss Florida 2018 Taylor Tyson, Miss Indiana 2018 Lydia Tremaine and Miss Louisiana 2018 Holli' Conway were the winners.
