Miss America 2023, the 95th edition of the Miss America, was held at the Mohegan Sun on 15th December 2022 where Grace Stanke of Wisconsin was crowned the new queen. Miss America 2022 Emma Broyles of Alaska crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.
A native of Wausau, Wisconsin, Grace is the third Miss Wisconsin to be crowned Miss America. Grace also received a preliminary talent award for her classical violin performance of ‘Storm’ from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. The stunning beauty also studies nuclear engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an advocate for nuclear energy awareness and STEM education.
The newly crowned Miss America 2023 Grace Stanke of Wisconsin’s court included –
1st Runner-Up – Taryn Smith of New York
2nd Runner-Up – Averie Bishop of Texas
3rd Runner-Up – Elizabeth Lynch of West Virginia
4th Runner-Up – Kelsey Hollis of Georgia
Top 7 also included Elizabeth Hallal of Indiana, Heather Renner of Nevada while Top 11 also included Lauren Teruya of Hawaii, Monica Nia Jones of Illinois (voted into Top 11 by receiving the America's Choice Award), Elizabetta Nies of Ohio and Sophia Takla of Oregon.
A number of preliminary awards were also presented at the finale; Kelsey Hollis of Georgia and Bailey Hodson of Iowa were presented Social Impact Pitch. Elizabeth Hallal of Indiana and Grace Stanke of Wisconsin were presented Talent award.
Women in Business Scholarship award went to Averie Bishop of Texas and Lindsay Bettis of Florida and Catherine Liang of California were adjudged first and second runners-up respectively. Social Impact Scholarship went to Emmie Perkins of Mississippi while Lindsay Fincher of Alabama and Hannah Edelen of Kentucky were adjudged first and second runners-up respectively.
Moreover, STEM Scholarship award went to Virginia’s Victoria Chuah while Alaksa’s Jessica Reisinger was adjudged 1st Runner-Up and South Dakota’s Hunter Widvey was adjudged 2nd Runner-Up.
Equity and Justice Scholarship went to Heather Renner of Nevada while Averie Bishop of Texas and Lindsay Bettis of Florida were the finalists. Women Who Brand Scholarship went to Averie Bishop went to Texas while Alexina Federhen of Vermont and Melody Pierce of Arizona were finalists.
