Kanika’s inspiration in life has always been her parents, who being immigrants have strived for success and to give their children the best possible opportunities. They believe in good morals, a strong work ethic and a zest for personal development, and they’ve imparted the same beliefs upon her. She’s also inspired by strong women who haven’t let their circumstances dictate the trajectory of their lives - including Malala Yousafzai and Jacinda Ardern.

Batra is an up and coming media influencer changing the face of the social sphere. “I’m a proud bisexual woman, and I want to use my platform to raise awareness surrounding LGBT issues, feminism, illness and domestic violence. I look different to most of the social media influencers we see today, and I hope that by making myself visible, and becoming a voice for the disempowered, I can show other girls who look like me just what they can do,” she mentioned.

In her free time she loves reading, creative writing, dancing, exploring the world and going on international trips while also travelling across her home country and volunteering with underprivileged children. The diva has also recently published a book, as an author. Her book, Honeytrap, is a fictional novel which reimagines Ted Bundy’s monstrous crimes with a twist.

Not new to the pageant world, Kanika began modelling when she was 10, appearing in Disney and Total Girl.  Since then, she’s gone on to be in the top 100 of 20,000 worldwide contestants in the Miss Jetset competition for Jetset Magazine.  She was a finalist for Miss World Australia in 2018 and 2020 and placed in the top 10 for Miss Universe New Zealand 2019. She was also a Miss India Australia finalist.

Through her work in pageants, she’s raised almost $10,000 for Variety, the Children’s Charity and the B Positive Foundation. “From childhood I’ve had a form of haemolytic anaemia which has thankfully been under control with few to nil side effects after becoming a teenager, but it caused a rather tumultuous upbringing.   I’ve seen children who cannot afford treatment become ill and die long, painful deaths and I wish to do all I can to raise awareness, funding and support,” Kanika shared.

She aspired to become an advocate for the disempowered and the silenced, through her passions for acting, singing, modelling and writing She believes, “As my following grows, so does the chance for me to make a positive change in the world around me.” . Kanika Batra is a passionate, determined and strong delegate to represent Australia at the international platform.
